Golf legend Tiger Woods was recently awarded by the 45th president of the United States with the nation’s highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, after he won his 15th Major title. Woods often makes headlines for his stormy divorce from ex-wife Elin Nordegren. But today we’re going to take a deep dive into the luxury houses of the $800 million net worth golfing superstar.
Tiger Woods is now living with his girlfriend Erica Herman in a swanky property on Jupiter Island, Florida. Woods and his then-wife Elin Nordegren bought the real estate in 2007 for $44.5 million. It was a record for Jupiter Island at the time, despite having a meager population of less than 900 people and being one of Florida’s most exclusive neighborhoods.
The Woodses then tore down the existing house and invested another $15 million to build a new, bigger one in its place. The rebuilding was completed in 2010 just as Woods’ divorce from Elin Nordegren was being finalized. Woods moved into his new house in 2011. You can imagine just how marvelous the superstar golfer’s new home is!
The property stretches from the Intracoastal Waterway to the Atlantic Ocean and occupies a12-acre plot. Set back a bit from the Intracoastal Waterway is the pro golfer’s 9,700-square-foot-plus home that is now valued at a staggering $54 million. It should come as no surprise that much of the “yard” is given to a golf practice area.
The main house in Woods’ mega-mansion is split into two sections, one houses a 3,300-square-foot living quarters and the other is a 6,400-square-foot multipurpose building. An elegant, glass-covered walkway connects the two buildings together. Each of the two parts has been fully equipped with everything the 15-time Major winner could ever need.
The massive living area includes two master bathrooms, three bedroom suites in addition to a large master bedroom. In the multimedia portion, there stands a private home theatre, a world-class gym with an oxygen therapy room, and a basement game room with a wine cellar and an elevator for up and down.
Outdoor activities are well catered for too. The Dad-of-two can enjoy his 100-foot swimming and lap pool, a 60-foot diving pool, a basketball-tennis court combo, and a spa. The stunning property also boasts a four-hole backyard golf course, complete with six bunkers. The facility was one of Woods’ first designs, and he said: “It’s set up so I can hit shots out of my second-story studio.”
Separate from the main house are four additional buildings: a golf training studio, a guesthouse, a detached garage for his 10 classic cars, and a boathouse near his two private docks that accommodate his $25 million, 155-foot yacht. There is also a runway for his $54 million Gulfstream G550 private jet. The pro athlete never needs to leave his home for a workout, and all his coaches, trainers, and medical professionals can come to him via land, air or sea.
Strangely, the world famous golfer’s massive house in Jupiter Island, Florida is listed by Google as a “Tourist Attraction.” There are even reviews from people who have visited the location thanks to Google listing the address. The only problem is that Woods’ home is not open for business, however, it has received 3.4 out of 5 stars in the reviews.
Aside from unwanted visitors, Woods did encounter trouble two years after he moved into the Jupiter Island house – the home was sinking. Due to Florida’s soil conditions, Woods reportedly noticed cracks in walls, and doors became “sticky” as door frames shifted. He launched another renovation project and as a result, this house has now become the stuff of dreams for golf and interior lovers the world over.
In addition to his luxury estate, Woods also owns a restaurant in Jupiter called The Woods Jupiter. It’s Tiger’s flagship restaurant, located just around the corner from his property. Billed as an elevated sports bar, the Woods has become a place where friends and family can come together to relax and refuel. The likes of Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, and Rickie Fowler have all dined there.
Woods really enjoys golfing and soaking up the sun in Florida. In fact, the golfing prodigy has lived in several different homes in the sunshine state. Before he moved into his Jupiter home, Woods spent the early days of his career in the exclusive Isleworth community in Windermere, Florida just outside of Orlando.
Woods and his former wife Elin Nordegren lived in this quiet Isleworth house until their divorce in 2010. The 8,000 square-foot, two-story home contains seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a game room, a home theater, a private dock, and a swimming pool. Fellow golfer Bubba Watson bought the home in 2013, but sold it in 2016 for $4.2 million.
Counting all of his business ventures, Woods has earned more than $1.4 billion. With that massive fortune, the pro golfer has been able to nab some pretty sweet real estates outside Florida. In 2009, Woods reportedly purchased a Hawaiian beachfront paradise known as “The Jewel of Maui.” Though it later proved to be false, rumors still have it that Woods owns a property somewhere in Maui.
Woods has reportedly invested $100 million to create the ultimate tropical residential resort (named “The Albany”) in Nassau. The super exclusive villa sits on 565-acres of land and includes a 71-berth marina, 350 properties, a water park for the kids, an equestrian center, a spa, and a championship golf course.
Shortly before their divorce, the Woodses purchased a 62-acre private island in Lake Malaren, Sweden. The island paradise features a super secluded villa, a private ferry boat for trips to and from the mainland, a protected quay, horse stables, a hot tub, a hunting lodge, six tee-off areas, and even a landing strip for a small aircraft.
